LORIE WHITAKER

Hello!
I'm Lorie Whitaker.

Picture
I’m a mixed-methods UX researcher and strategist with 17 years of experience helping organizations move from assumption-driven to evidence-driven decisions.
Based in Germany with permanent residency, and as a U.S. citizen, I’m available for remote or hybrid opportunities across both regions.

Throughout my career, I’ve worked with teams at Zalando, GitLab, Okta, Capital One, and Glassnode, leading initiatives that connect research insights to product and business impact. My focus is on making research accessible, scalable, and actionable. Whether by building new practices from the ground up or mentoring teams to conduct confident, independent research.

I thrive in complex spaces like enterprise systems, marketplaces, and B2B platforms, where clarity, alignment, and empathy must coexist with speed and scale. My background in education and human-centered design shapes how I teach and systematize research within organizations,  enabling sustainable growth and cross-functional collaboration.

Beyond my professional work, I’m a lifelong learner. After earning my German Settlement Permit (Niederlassungserlaubnis) in 2024 and completing the B1 German language exam and citizenship test, I’ve been slowly working through an ever-growing stack of books on psychology, systems thinking, and design ethics.

If you're interested in creating user-centered products or strengthening research culture within your organization, don't hesitate to reach out via LinkedIn or email.
